September 11, 2001 showed the charitable, caring, altruistic side of America’s people. The money donated to various relief funds was enormous, however, along with the September 11th tragedy, many foundations and charity organizations have been strained financially.
Many have seen the images of this tragedy in magazines and dedicated books, but now it is time for the sports industry to participate in a project to raise money and help keep America aware of those other charities in need of funds.
America’s Athletes gives some of our greatest American sports icons the opportunity to promote their chosen charities through a one-of-a-kind collectable keepsake book. The photography, featuring sports legends, such as NBA All-Stars Tim Duncan and David Robinson, Olympians Dan Jansen and Kristi Yamaguchi, and NHL Hockey All-Stars Mike Modano and Jeremy Roenick to name a few, portrays a uniquely personal and patriotic feeling.
Accompanying each photograph is text in their own words about their unique perspective on what it means to be an athlete in America.
Proceeds from the sale of the book will be distributed to the charities of the athletes’ choice. In total, over 50 charities across America will benefit from America’s Athletes. |
